- TWD account
TWD demand savings deposit- An initial deposit of NT$1,000 is required.
- The minimum balance to accrue interest is NT$5,000.
- Interest calculation: Check deposits do not accrue interest; however, the interest amount of other products is calculated daily based on the floating rate announced by the Bank. The interest is paid on settlement dates, June 20th and December 20th every year, and added to the principal on the following banking day.
- Foreign currency account
Foreign currency demand deposit- The foreign currency account allows management of up to 16 different currencies, including US dollar (USD), Japanese yen (JPY), Euro (EUR), Chinese yuan (RMB), British Pound (GBP), Canadian dollar (CAD), Swiss franc (CHF), Australian dollar (AUD), New Zealand dollar (NZD), Hong Kong dollar (HKD), Singapore dollar (SGD), Swedish krona (SEK), South African rand (ZAR), Thai baht (THB), Danish krone (DKK), Turkish lira (TRY).
- The minimum balance to accrue interest is the equivalent of US$100. The minimum amount to start earning interest depends on each currency type.
- Interest calculation: The interest amount is calculated daily and paid on settlement dates (June 20th and December 20th every year). The payment and calculation of the interest amount earned shall follow the terms and conditions set forth in the Bank’s General Agreement for Account Opening.
- Notice
- The interest amount of each currency type is calculated based on the rate announced by the Bank. The rate may be adjusted in response to market factors, such as rate hikes or cuts by central banks and interest rates of other banks. The payment and calculation of the interest amount earned shall follow the terms and conditions set forth in the Bank’s General Agreement for Account Opening (including changes and amendments thereof).

Foreign customers need to bring the following documents to a CUB branch to set up an account.- Required documents
- Foreigners (with a residence in Taiwan)
- Original valid Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) and secondary identification document
- Name seal (signature acceptable)
- An initial deposit of NT$1,000
- Foreigners (without a residence in Taiwan)
- Original passport with a valid entry visa (or stamp)/ Overseas Compatriot Identity Certificate issued by the Overseas Community Affairs Council, original secondary identification document, and the UI Number Basic Information Form
- Name seal (signature acceptable)
- An initial deposit of NT$1,000
- Foreigners (with a residence in Taiwan)
